Uruguayan-Spanish tenor. Santiago studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Prof. Mario Díaz and Prof. Pauliina Tukiainen. He was awarded the Lilli-Lehmann-Medaille at the end of his Masters in Lied and Oratorio. In 2023 Santiago was awarded First Prize at the International Mozart Competition. He also was awarded the Second Prize at the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition 2024.

Santiago has been part of the ensemble at Theater Bonn since 2021. In the Season 25-26 he will perform Tamino (The Magic Flute) and Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) at this theater, as well as Taseh (Die Kinder des Sultans) at Theater Dortmund. Previous engagements include Verdi's Don Carlo and Lenski (Eugene Onegin) in Theater Bonn, Alfredo (La Traviata) in Piacenza, Mozart's Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) in Sassari, Elemer (Arabella) in Aalto Theater Essen, Lampionaio (Manon Lescaut) at the Oper Frankfurt, Soliman (Zaide) at the Tiroler Festspiele, Ein Lehrbube (Die Meistersinger von Nürmberg) at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Nervous Gambler in Prokofiev’s The Gambler at both the Salzburger Festspiele and the Wiener Staatsoper. Santiago was recently chosen as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist for 2025-2026
